- 1. What is O.P.E.R.A.?
- The Online Payroll Entry & Recording Application is a web-based application that offers the convenience for
Work-Study students and their supervisors to record, submit, and approve electronic timesheets.
Some of the features of this application are:
- Can be accessed 24-hours a day 7-days a week from any computer by Work-Study students and supervisors
- Hours worked are automatically calculated for each day and totaled for the pay period
- Allows Work-Study students to save timesheets in the current pay period
- Comments can be entered for each time entry by students and supervisors
- Supervisors can instantly see all pending timesheets and those submitted for approval
- All approved timesheets are archived and can be accessed for viewing only
- Supervisors can send email to all Work-Study students assigned to them
- Confirmation emails sent when timesheets are submitted and approved
- 2. What is my login username and password?
- Your username is the first part of your Juilliard email address. For example, if your email address is jdoe@juilliard.edu, then your username is jdoe. Your password is the same as your Juilliard email password.
- 3. Where can I get the Work-Study Employment Contract?
- Download the WORK-STUDY EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT. In order to open the PDF file, please make sure you have
Adobe Reader installed on your computer.
- 4. Why can't I see my current job?
- The job hasn't been entered in the system. Make sure that you and your supervisor have submitted a Work-Study Employment Contract to the Financial Aid Office. .
- 5. When are the pay dates?
- Students are paid on the 13th and 28th of each month for the preceding pay period. If either of these dates should fall on a weekend or holiday, students will be paid the preceding business day.
- 6. Where's my pay check?
- We deliver checks to student mailboxes during the school year, and to your preferred address during the summer. Students signed up for direct deposit will not receive a physical check and their earnings will be deposited directly into their bank account.
- 7. Why haven't I been paid yet?
- You may not be on the Juilliard payroll. Make sure that you’ve filled out a W-4 form and an I-9 form in the Financial Aid Office. International students also need to obtain a social security number and file additional tax paperwork. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.
- 8. Do you offer Direct Deposit?

Yes! We encourage all students to sign up for Direct Deposit to have their earnings transferred electronically into their bank accounts. See the Financial Aid Office or the Accounts Payable Office for a form.
- 9. How do I find out about available Work-Study jobs?

See the Financial Aid Office, send an email to financialaid@juilliard.edu, look for signs around the building, or just ask the department you’re interested in.
- 10. Will my Work-Study earnings be deducted from my tuition bill?
- No. Although Work-Study earnings are considered a financial resource for aid purposes, the actual amount earned will be paid directly to you based on how many hours you’ve worked.

- 12. How many timesheets can a Work-Study student submit per pay period?

One and only one timesheet is allowed per pay period per Work-Study position.
